Nigerian wrestler, Odunayo Adekuoroye has gained a gold medal within the ladies’s 57kg Freestyle wrestling for Crew Nigeria on the ongoing Commonwealth Video games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

The 28-year-old defeated her Indian opponent, Anshu Malik 6-4 (VPO1) to safe Nigeria’s first gold medal in Wrestling, and defend the crown she gained 4 years in the past.

Earlier than reaching the ultimate, the reigning African champion defeated Canada’s Hannah Taylor within the semis in a swashbuckling 10-0 victory.
